Fibrelight Developments Ltd was formed by Pat Hobbs and David Taylor in 2007, to develop innovative marine rescue equipment.

The first equipment introduced was the Fibrelight Overboard Recovery Cradle, which also serves as a scrambling net, boarding ladder and emergency stretcher. The construction of the device was covered by patent application numbers GB 2451127, Europe EP 2178743, US 12/669084.

The same construction also produced the Fibrelight Assault Ladder, an extremely strong flexible sided ladder which is unique in that it can be loaded in both directions. Available in single and double rung versions, the double rung is faster, more stable and easier to use particularly when descending.

Other equipment currently under evaluation, again based on the same patented construction, includes the Fibrelight Stretcher, Boarding Ladder, Escape Ladder and Marine Security Barrier.
